Passion, Purpose & Partnership

In today's complex world, freedom comes in many forms. It might be the ability to pursue your hobbies, or to enjoy your relationships. However you define it, freedom involves time--and the ability to spend it the way you want. Financial security is the ability to spend your time the way you choose--and knowing that those you love and who depend on you have the same opportunity. Working together, we can identify the financial goals and solutions to help provide the freedoms of financial security for you and your family.

Our Mission: To bring passion, purpose, and partnership in helping you provide long-term financial security for yourself, your family, your business and your community.

  • Passion - A powerful and contagious emotion that moves you to act on the most important aspects of your life, and helps others to make their intentions become reality.
  • Purpose - A reason for doing something. The grounding belief in something long term, usually bigger than yourself, that gives meaning to current decisions and activities.
  • Partnership - A collaboration toward a common vision or purpose. A long term relationship of substance and depth, in which the participants can be counted on a relationship of value.

Pictured left to right: 2019 Good Samaritan of the Year Award Recipient Phil Berkheimer, Marj Berkheimer, Holly Ramsburg, 2019 Good Samaritan of the Year Award Recipient Ray Ramsburg, and Frederick Regional Health System President & CEO Tom Kleinhanzl.

Phil Berkheimer and Ray Ramsburg were named Frederick Memorial Hospital’s 2019 Good Samaritans of the Year at a recognition event on May 16 for some of the hospital’s most generous benefactors. This year’s annual reception also commemorated the 30th anniversary of the hospital’s volunteer fundraising arm, the FMH Development Council.

Phil Berkheimer a former U.S. Marine Corps officer whose service included a tour of duty in Vietnam, Berkheimer retired last year after a 50-year career as a financial advisor and wealth manager. He is a founding trustee of the Frederick Community College Foundation, a past Chairman of Hood College’s Board of Trustees, and a two-term trustee at the Community Foundation of Frederick County. A past president of the Rotary Club of Frederick, he chaired the club’s campaign to raise money to help eradicate polio worldwide—nearly doubling its fundraising goal. Currently, he is co-chairing the club’s efforts to raise $1 million for the First Century Trust Fund, whose annual proceeds will fund civic projects, award scholarships and support the good work of area non-profits in perpetuity.

Ramsburg is Regional Insurance President for McGriff Insurance Services. A two-term trustee at the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Ramsburg is a past Chairman of Hood College’s Board of Trustees as well as the Frederick Community College Board of Trustees. A longtime champion of those living with mental and physical disabilities, he founded a scholarship at FCC to support students with special needs. In addition to serving as Assistant Treasurer of the Great Frederick Fair, he has been active with the YMCA, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Arc of Frederick County, the Jefferson School, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and the Boy Scouts of America. Ramsburg is also an active member and past president of the Rotary Club of Frederick.

Both Berkheimer and Ramsburg were recognized for their service to Frederick Memorial Hospital, including their leadership as Chairs of the FMH Board of Directors and in the early days of the FMH Development Council. Berkheimer followed his term as Chair of the FMH Board of Directors by accepting the chairmanship of the Development Council.  Ramsburg chaired the hospital’s Business and Industry Committee, helping to recruit some of the earliest members of the FMH Corporate Honor Roll.

“Our 2019 Good Samaritans of the Year are shining examples of community servants who have given of their time, expertise, and resources without hesitation for decades,” said local businessman and FMH Special Gifts Committee Chair Daniel Schiffman. “Personally and professionally, both Phil and Ray have been ‘Good Samaritans’ to many people over the years, and our community is all the better for it.”
